30th Class of JET Participants Depart for Japan (July 23, 2016)

On Friday, July 22nd, the Consulate-General of Japan in Denver held Pre-Departure Orientation and Reception for the 30th class of JET Program participants at the 17th Street Plaza Building and Official Residence respectively.

In his remarks during the reception, Consul-General Ito emphasized that the JET Program not only contributes greatly to the improvement of English education in Japan but also to deeper mutual understanding between Japan and the U.S.. He congratulated the 69 participants on their acceptance and said he has high hopes for their success in their respective placement locations. Ms. Emily Freeman, President of the Rocky Mountain JET Alumni Association (RMJETAA) offered the congratulatory toast and a few words of encouragement on how to enjoy life as a JET.    

The participants excitedly departed for Japan the next day, and we wish them all the best during their time on the JET Program.
