Consul-General hosted a dinner reception at JETAA Regional Conference (1/27/2012)

 

From January 27 to January 29, 2012, the Rocky Mountain JETAA and Consulate-General of Japan in Denver co-sponsored a JETAA (JET Alumni Association) Regional Conference in Estes Park, Colorado. On the first day of the conference Consul-General hosted a Welcome Reception, with delegates from North American JETAA chapters (the U.S. and Canada) in attendance.

 

At the reception, followed by a moment of silence for the JET participants we lost by Great East Japan Earthquake, Consul-General and John McMillan, President of the Rocky Mountain JETAA greeted the participants. In the greetings, Consul- General expressed an appreciation for prompt support activities by JETAA in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake.

 

The JET program has sent Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) and Coordinators for International Relations (CIRs) to Japan for 25 years. JET Alumni Associations participated in Japanese related events in many places over the years. The Rocky Mountain JETAA has also hosted many such events in the region towards closer friendship between Japan and the U.S..
