Ms. McKenna Kei Asakawa is to Participate in “Invitation Program for Japanese American Students” from Colorado (2/11/2012)
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan sponsors “Invitation Program for Japanese American Students” with purpose of providing Japanese American students with an opportunity to learn Japanese language and to assist their activities to preserve Japanese culture, for Japanese american high school students of new generations.
Ms. McKenna Kei Asakawa, a 12th Grader high school student in Lafayette, Colorado, is going to visit Japan as one of five delegates of “Invitation Program for Japanese American Students” from United States this year. Ms. Asakawa plays a leading role in a community of younger Japanese-American in Rocky Mountain region, and also works enthusiastically to inherit Japanese culture.
The 12 days program starts from 9th March, and it includes experience of high school classes in Japan, excursion to local area in Japan, and home stay.
On February 11th, 2012, she visited Consul General’s residence with her family and friends, and expressed her enthusiasm for her visit to Japan on this program to Consul General, Mrs. Ono, consuls and other consulate staffs.
