Consul General ONO’s attendance to the 67th Annual Community Memorial Day Service (May 27, 2013)
Consul General Ikuhiko ONO and his wife attended the 67th Annual Community Memorial Day Service to commemorate Nisei (2nd generation) Veterans at Fairmount Cemetery on May 27th, 2013. This memorial service is held annually on Memorial Day to commemorate Nisei (2nd generation) Japanese American veterans who were members of 442nd regiment and MIS during World War II. Mr. George Joe Sakato, a recipient of the Medal of Honor, participated in the memorial service and said a few words to the audience.
