Consul-General Ono attended the 55th Anniversary Celebration of Sister City relations between Salt Lake City and Matsumoto, Japan

Representitives from Matsumoto city joined an anniversary parade
On July 22nd, 2013 Consul General Ikuhiko Ono and his wife attended the 55th Anniversary Celebration of Sister City relations between Salt Lake City, Utah and Matsumoto City in Japan. Ralph Becker, the mayor of Salt Lake City and Akira Sugenoya, the mayor of Matsumoto City, also attended the ceremony.
Consul General Ono congratulated both cities on the success of the relationship over the last 55 years, and expressed gratitude for the generosity and support received from Utah after earthquake disaster of 2011.
During his stay, Mayor Sugenoya also gave a presentation to Salt Lake City town's people on July 23rd, and attended an anniversary parade on the 24th.
