Visit by Delegation from Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture (July 31, 2013)
An 11-member delegation from Colorado’s sister state of Yamagata Prefecture paid a visit to the Consulate office on July 31st, including six high school students and their exchange chaperones. Consul General Ono outlined the history of Japanese Americans living in Colorado before and after World War II and discussed the topic with the group. The Yamagata delegation will stay in Colorado through August 5th,, and have been enjoying not only the beauty of Colorado but also various exchanges such as home stay and participation in annual picnic organized by Japanese American Association of Colorado.
