Consul General Ono’s Courtesy Call to Wyoming Governor Matthew Mead (September 4th, 2013)
Consul General Ono paid a courtesy call to Wyoming Governor Matthew Mead on September 4th, at the Wyoming Capitol in Cheyenne. The Consul General expressed his appreciation for the assistance from Wyoming toward the Great Japan Earthquake of 2011. Further, he referred to his expectation for a growth in tourism from Japan to Wyoming due to the recent start of the Denver to Tokyo non-stop flight, as well as his commitment toward expanding youth exchange programs between Japan and Wyoming. In response, Governor Mead expressed strong interest in strengthening the state’s ties with Japan in both economic and cultural aspects.
