Fukushima Legislators Visit Colorado (October 17, 18, 2013)
A delegation of eight members of the Fukushima Prefectural Assembly visited Colorado October 17-18, on an investigative mission headed by legislator Tamotsu Munakata. The purpose of their visit was to investigate US energy policy and consider useful aspects that could be applied to future policymaking in Fukushima. The Consulate-General of Japan in Denver assisted with their stay in various ways. The delegation spent a very fruitful schedule in during their stay, including a visit to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) as well as a meeting with Fort Collins city officials regarding the city's smart grid, with a visit to a local beer factory that uses advanced renewable energy techniques.
