Mr. Derek Okubo's participation in Japanese American Leadership Delegation (JALD)

Mr. Derek Okubo, Executive Director of Human Rights and Community Partnerships of the City of Denver, will join the Japanese American Leadership Delegation (JALD) program for 2014. Mr. Okubo has a distinguished career record of promoting human relations, leading to a successful nomination for his current position. He is a leading figure in various activities including many with the Japanese-American community in Colorado, and is a recognized Japanese-American leader in the state.
He is involved with sister city relations between Denver and Takayama, contributing greatly to exchange programs and other efforts of that organization. JALD invites Japanese American leaders from all over the US to participate in its program, with this year's delegation scheduled to visit Japan from March 8-15, 2014. While in Japan, they are scheduled to meet with various high ranking officials of the Government of Japan and major economic organizations.
