Consul-General Ono attended the 9th Annual Nihon Matsuri in Salt Lake City on April 26th, organized by the Japanese American community in Utah. Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams, Mr. Charlie Luke, City Council member of Salt Lake City and Mr. Floyd Mori, former president of the National Japanese America Citizens League (JACL), also attended as VIPs. The festival featured Japanese traditional culture such as martial arts, drums and modern pop culture like anime, along with exhibitions related to the history of Japanese Americans in Utah. Although it was raining on that day, even so many people turned up for the festival and those who came to the event were able to enjoy various aspects of Japanese culture throughout the day.
