Conferment Ceremony for Commendation of the Consul General upon Mr. Charles Ozaki (May 22, 2014)

A Conferment Ceremony for Mr. Charles Ozaki to receive the decoration of Commendation of the Consul General for 2014 was held at the Official Residence of the Consul General on May 22, 2014. Mr. Ozaki is the City Manager of the City and County of Broomfield. The ceremony was attended by about 30 people including Mr. Ozaki's family and relatives, and featuring local Japanese American leaders and officials from City and County of Broomfield. At the ceremony, Consul General Ono presented Mr. Ozaki with an official certificate and small token, after which Mr. Ozaki offered some remarks. He noted that it is a great honor to receive this award, as he has always paid attention to the connection with Japan in his life and that he would like to further contribute to the promotion of US-Japan relations. Judge Kerry Hada of Denver also gave remarks to congratulate Mr. Ozaki, describing him as a person of great vision. After that, Mr. Greg Stokes, Mayor Pro-Tem of the City and County of Broomfield, offered a toast to conclude the ceremony and begin a brief reception. People at the reception enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, and commemorative photos were taken.
