Reception Celebrating Establishment of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the US-Japan Council (June 6, 2014)
A reception celebrating the establishment of a new Rocky Mountain Chapter of the US-Japan Council, the organization's first regional chapter, was held at Consul General Ono's official residence on June 6, 2014. The reception featured special guest Ms. Irene Hirano, President of US-Japan Council, and prominent leaders in the Japanese American community from Colorado, Utah and New Mexico. About 80 people attended the reception including Mr. Joe Garcia, Lieutenant Governor of the State of Colorado, who just visited Japan last April. Representatives from the offices of Senator Michael Bennett and Congresswoman Diana DeGette also attended. A special congratulatory message from Ambassador Sasae, Ambassador of Japan to the USA, was also read at the reception. The Consulate-General of Japan in Denver looks forward to working closely with the US-Japan Council Rocky Mountain Chapter to further strengthen US-Japan relations.
