Cultural Event to Introduce Okinawa Culture at the Official Residence of Consul-General (June 14, 2014)
Consulate- General of Japan in Denver hosted a cultural event to introduce Okinawa culture to local people at Consul General's residence on 14th June.
It was attended by the local people interested in Okinawa's culture including US military personnel stationed in Okinawa and Japanese American leaders interested in Okinawa. As a highlight of the event, we introduced Okinawa's traditional dance to the audience by famous Okinawa dancers visiting here in conjunction with 40th anniversary of Okinawa Kenjinkai, such as Naoko Ahagon and Yukari Shimabukuro. The people from Colorado Okinawa Kenjinkai were also present to introduce Okinawa culture to the participants.
