Consul General ONO Attended the 67th Anniversary of the US Air Force and 10th Anniversary of the 460th Space Wing Celebration(09,26,2014)
Consul General ONO and his wife attended a reception held at a hotel in Denver to celebrate the 67th anniversary of the US Air Force and the 10th anniversary of 460th Space Wing, stationed at Buckley Airbase in Aurora Colorado, on September 26, 2014. The reception began with the singing of the US national anthem and a moment of silence for those who have given their lives or are missing in action since the establishment of US Air Force. A toast and remarks were given by Colonel John Wagner of the US Air Force. That was followed by the evening’s guest speaker, former undersecretary of the US Air Force and retired major general Ronald Sega, who was also an astronaut with two Space Shuttle missions to his credit. He talked about the history of US space exploration and its future direction. He also specifically touched upon the importance and achievements of close US-Japan cooperation in this field.
