On October 2, 2014, Japan America Society of Colorado (JASC) 25th Anniversary Celebration "Where East Meets West" was held in the Four Seasons Denver Hotel with about 350 attendance and Consul General Ono and Mrs. Ono from the Consulate-General of Japan in Denver.
Mr. Eric Hiraga, President of JASC, made an opening remarks and Mr. Michael Hancock, Mayer of Denver, made a guest speech. The celebration main feature "Where East Meets West" was a special lecture by the Consul General Ono on the Japanese food 'Washoku" and its related cultural/social back-ground with Japanese culture and society, also sake (Japanese rice wine) tasting was lectured and demonstrated by Mr. Chris Johnson, Sake Sommelier, matched with served food prepared by the Chef Simon Purvis.
