Consul General Ito paid Courtesy Visit to
NORTHCOM/NORAD Commander Admiral Bill Gortney(April 30, 2015)
Consul General Ito paid a courtesy visit to Admiral Bill Gortney, Commander of U. S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM) and North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on Thursday, April 30, 2015.
The Consul General mentioned how cooperation between the U.S. and Japan has deepened with events such as the Japanese Prime Minister’s visit to the U.S. and revisions of the Japan-U.S. Defense Guideline. He also stated that while it is the Consulate General’s mission to contribute to strengthening the U.S.-Japan relationship, he wishes to strengthen the relationship with the NORTHCOM and NORAD as well.
In response, Admiral Gortney said there are many officers in the command who have been posted in Japan and he would like to spare no efforts in cooperating with Japan to strengthen a long-term relationship.
