Japan-Colorado Business Seminar: Advancing Collaboration in Biomedical Technology (November 6th, 2025)






On Thursday, November 6th, the Consulate-General of Japan in Denver, the Aurora city government, and the Fitzsimons Innovation Community (FIC) co-hosted the “Japan-Colorado Business Seminar: Advancing Collaboration in Biomedical Technology” at Fitzsimons Innovation Campus in Aurora, Colorado.
Colorado Governor Jared Polis and Aurora City Mayor Mike Coffman were in attendance and gave remarks. The seminar was moderated by Kelly Brough, CEO of FIC, and following Consul-General Okajima’s remarks, Dr. Vineet Chopra from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus gave a presentation on the university and FIC's efforts in this field, and Mr. Akira Kajita, Chief Executive Director of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Los Angeles Office, on Japan’s efforts in the life science field.
The event featured a panel discussion on the biomedical industry by Japanese companies active in Colorado and a local American company who is conducting business with Japan.

More than 40 attendees gathered at the seminar, and a networking reception was held after the seminar. We look forward to continuing working on further strengthening the cooperative relationship between Japan and Colorado in the biomedical field.
