On November 12th, the Consulate-General of Japan in Denver and the Center for China-US Cooperation at the Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs, University of Denver, co-hosted the “New Dynamics of Japan-China-US Relations under the Trump Administration 2.0,”an online lecture by Professor Akio Takahara, a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Tokyo Woman’s Christian University.


Professor Suisheng Zhao, Director of the University's Center for U.S.-China Cooperation, moderated the event. Consul-General Okajima gave welcome remarks, stating that Professor Takahara is a highly renowned scholar of Chinese domestic and foreign policy, and his lecture is timely to the recent Japan-U.S., Japan-China, and U.S.-China summit meetings.


With the world order in flux, Professor Takahara gave a thought-provoking explanation from various perspectives on the US strategy toward China after the inauguration of the new Trump administration, China's foreign policy strategy, and relations with Japan. The lecture was followed by a lively discussion with the participants as they asked questions.
