This scholarship offers applicants the opportunity to spend up to 3 years at a Japanese special training school studying one of several fields. Please read the Guidelines linked below for further details.

The general timeline for the 2026 scholarship application/selection process is outlined below:

Complete applications must be received by this date. Applications submitted after 5PM on May 23, 2025 will not be considered.

Interview and Test
The interview will take place on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 (this schedule is subject to change). The format of the interview will be announced in the notification of being invited to interview and exams.
Written exams will be conducted in-person on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at the Consulate-General of Japan in Denver.
You will receive an email from the MEXT Scholarship Coordinator with information on whether you are invited to test and interview, as well as any other pertinent details.
