Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program

Monbukagakusho (文部科学省), the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT), offers seven different scholarships for non-Japanese nationals wishing to study in Japan. Please ensure that you review the eligibility requirements for the MEXT Scholarship by reading the application guidelines. In case you do not meet the eligibility criteria for this scholarship, kindly refer to JASSO's (Japan Student Services Organization) scholarship publication, "Scholarship for International Students in Japan", to explore other scholarships provided by different organizations.

[Jurisdiction]

ONLY U.S. CITIZENS LIVING IN COLORADO, UTAH, WYOMING, AND NEW MEXICO MAY APPLY THROUGH THIS CONSULATE.
U.S. citizens in other states should apply through the consulate responsible for their state.
