Applications for the 2023 Japanese Government (MEXT) scholarships for Research Students, Undergraduate Students and Specialized Training College Students are open.

Monbukagakusho (文部科学省), the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT), offers six different scholarships for non-Japanese nationals wishing to study in Japan. The following four scholarships are available to apply at the Consulate-General of Japan in Denver.

  1. Research Students
  2. Undergraduate University Students
  3. Specialized Training College (Senshu-Gakko) Students
  4. Japanese Studies Students

ONLY U.S. CITIZENS LIVING IN COLORADO, UTAH, WYOMING, AND NEW MEXICO MAY APPLY THROUGH THIS CONSULATE.

The Following MEXT Scholarship applications for 2023 are now available.

Applications must be submitted to the Consulate-General of Japan in Denver by Wednesday, June 1, 2022. Applications received after 5 pm on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, will not be considered.

 

All interviews will be conducted online for the 2023 selection process; however, written exams will be conducted in person on June 30, 2022 at the Consulate-General of Japan in Denver with social distancing measures. The detailed information will be announced in the interview invitation.
